Just finished reading A Clash of Kings yesterday, and this evening I'm 3 volumes in to The Walking Dead! (Thanks Jimmy!) Both are really good, if very different.

Oops! I meant all six volumes of the Walking Dead that I had to hand! Steve and I still need to buy more Song of Ice and Fire. Today I read 'Robin Hood' as told by Charles Wilson.

Do. It's win.
Haven't read it in years myself actually, must re-read it soon. I'm afraid I'm back to reading the insurance books (last one this time though!) for the time being, although I'm slowly reading Game of Thrones on the side at the same time.

I have up to volume 14 of walking dead, Aoife... you and Steve are welcome to them when i'm back in Dublin next week. Have to wait until like february for vol 15. Still enjoying it after volumes 4-6? I know i'm obsessed with Zombies, but only in good book/ comic stories... and very few movies. Think walking dead is probably my favourite zombie fiction. The tv show is very good too, if slightly different in flavour.

Is anybody interested in the DC comics reboot happening this month? Thinking of picking some of it up.

I'm borderline interested, mostly because of the fact that it would be great to get into the comics when you don't have to know 40 years of story that might be influencing the current story.
However, my biggest problem with it is that they're not changing ENOUGH. They're rebooting the entire universe, and kicking back all the comics to #1, but they're keeping all 52 of their titles, and adding another new one.
So if i want to follow Batman, not only do I have to buy all 5 batman titles, but i have to buy 2 justice league titles too! At least in marvel, the members of the avengers didn't all have their own titles. If they had one character title per month, and get more people working on it and double the size of the title, it would be way better in my opinion. Comics are only 20 pages now, so I only buy volumized books, and i've effectively given up on DC, coz I hate most of their characters, and the ones that I truely love, they spread so thin I can't afford it.

Yes indeed they do tend to spread their three or four central characters a little thin. However as long as you're not too worried about following the 'Universe' events, most of the books are still split into discreet storylines which only crossover every so often. Still, like yourself, I think I'll stick to just buying Graphic Novels/Collections as they come out.
