Resisting the urge to rant about how bad LOST became ... I think I've fulfilled my quota on that rant for the year.

Ya, wow, especially since it's been cancelled and nothing will be wrapped up. Just go and rewatch BSG. Quality TV right there.

Still watching SG1. Still revelling in its awesomeness.
And Steve - don't worry, I will do your duty for you.
LOST was a pointless pile of shite. Nothing went anywhere, and the whole show was just pointless tottering between one arbitrary thing suddenly being important and another arbitrary thing suddenly being important. Almost none of the mysteries of the first 5 seasons were ever explained, not did they ever matter! The final season, which was supposed to 'explain everything!' only explained itself. Which is useless!!
Which is also why I'm immensly glad that I stopped watching at the end of Season 5. I like to think that when Juliette blew up the nuke, they all died. Everyone. Even the ones who weren't on the island, or in the 60s. It was god's punishment for being shit.
If you want to experience something like LOST again, just ask random and unconnected questions to a man who only responds with vague half-assed remarks, or questions of his own.

Yea there was certainly a lot wrong with LOST. I've seen it all now and I think it got steadily worse. The first season was actually very good, then you got to know the characters.... they're not a very likeable bunch. There were enough flaws in it for a 500 page book but the cheap cliffhanger at the end of every episode kept a lot of people (myself included) coming back for more. I enjoyed it a lot more when I gave up trying to explain things though. If you can do that, because it's not easy, then it becomes decent mindless entertainment.

I enjoyed Lost while I watched it, but was unhappy with the finish, and don't think I will ever watch it again.

Same as Quill, I enjoyed and will watch again. But then again I usually try not to base most things on the ending. It was a good journey. If we judged BSG on the ending it was shit, but in reality form season 1 to 3.5 it was the best show ever on TV.

I didnt enjoy the plot at all. Felt like I was being bombarded by mystery after mystery with little to no explanation and I didnt care enough about any of them or the characters to get emmersed into the story. Personal taste and all that.

I'm not basing everything on the ending... I agree with Liam, you were just being bombarded with mysteries and questions. The fact that half of these were unresolved or made no sense is what made it bad. So when it ended without things resolved... that's what sucked.
They spent the first 5 seasons denying that it was purgatory. So then, they made a parallel universe in the 6th season, and at the end, they told you that THAT universe was purgatory. But they completely overlooked what the island was - because they hadn't a fucking clue themselves, they were just full of shit. Also, Jacob was a tool, and an unbelievably stupid fucker, and nearly all the characters were completely hateable by the time the ending rolled around. I had more empathy for the man in black than anyone. He just wanted to escape from an island of misery where some bitch murdered his mother but was somehow good and pure. After that, Ben. Now correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure those are the characters that for some reason we were supposed to hate.
Also Jack, Kate, and Sawyer - it was like being in secondary school again. When Jack got punched in the face, it made me smile.
writers didn't know what the fuck they were doing, and as a result, it was toss.

I meant the last 2 and a half seasons of BSG (kind of) sucked silly! And they only sucked by BSG standards. That show is a different category of awesome.

Ah! Personally, I stopped watching Lost a little way into Season 4 - less a matter of me being pissed off at it, than it failing to hold my interest.
